Dorgard is an acoustic fire door retainer which enables you to legally and safely keep fire doors open preventing the spread of fire and smoke. The casing is made from ABS and is powered by two 1.5v C size alkaline batteries. The expected battery life is 12 months. The Dorgard has an automatic night-time release facility and adjustable sensitivity.The Dorgard improves access throughout the building in line with the Disability Discrimination Act.

How does it work?

The dorgard is fixed to the bottom of the fire door using 4 screws. The dorgard holds the door open using a rubber stopper which is built in to the casing. If the fire alarm sounds 65db or higher for a continuous period of time (14 seconds) the Dorgard with automatically withdraw the stopper and the door will close using the door closer.
